Cryptocurrency platform Coinbase announced on Monday it has appointed Manish Gupta as its new Executive Vice President of Engineering.
Coinbase reported that Gupta joins its team from Lyft, where he served as Vice President of Engineering for the past two years. He previously was employed by Google for nearly 20 years, with the last holding position as Vice President of Engineering for Google’s Ads platform. Speaking about Gupta’s appointment, Brian Armstrong, CEO and Co-Founder of Coinbase, stated:
“Aside from his exceptional engineering experience, Manish impressed us with his positive energy, clear communication, great questions, and passion for the mission and opportunity we have as a company. We look forward to working alongside Manish to build a more open financial system.”
The appointment of Gupta comes just days after Coinbase announced it named Greg Tusar, Co-Founder of U.S.-based institutional crypto brokerage platform Tagomi, as its new Vice President of Institutional Products. As previously reported, Tusar brings more than three decades of experience in electronic trading, technical infrastructure, and market structure. He has held various roles, including Partner and Global Head of Electronic Trading at Goldman Sachs, and Head of Client Market Making and Execution Services at KCG Holdings (now part of Virtu Inc.).
