Well, we all would love to have our own tax-exempt status (you know — military pensions, Social Security, et al.).
We need to remember that each exemption increases the burden of those remaining taxpayers unable to garner the sympathy of legislators.
Then we have a cascade effect of complaints of Vermont being unfriendly to business, the working man (yes, woman too) and everyone without an exemption.
Just a reminder that your exemption costs someone else.
