This method requires miners to solve complex mathematical equations to find the complementary hash code to the last block on the blockchain. This process allows blocks to be added to the blockchain. Those who solve it get awarded one Bitcoin. As more people have begun attempting to mine Bitcoin, the puzzles have been made harder. Miners have now started using super-intelligent computers to solve these equations for them. These computers use a large amount of energy and consume a shocking 127 TWh. This amount of energy consumption causes havoc to our environment: something Gen Z is hugely passionate about.
How does Gen Z view Litecoin (LTC)?
Litecoin was released two years after Bitcoin (BTC); however, most older Gen Z won’t remember this as they were school-aged at the time. Currently, it is number 21 on CoinMarketCap. By no means an unpopular cryptocurrency; it’s nowhere near the level of popularity of Bitcoin, which may make the coin seem more forgettable. As the coin didn’t blow up the same way Bitcoin did, it’s still doing well and has a faster transaction speed which may appeal to a generation that is used to instant gratification.
Like Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin utilises a blockchain that still uses the proof-of-work mining system. As mentioned previously, this mining method uses an immense amount of energy. It can negatively impact the environment furthering the speed of climate change, which would not appeal to the environmentally conscious generation.
Why Does Big Eyes Coin (Big) Appeal to Gen Z?
Big Eyes Coin (BIG) is a new cryptocurrency that has sold $3.2 million in its pre-sale. It’s a meme coin, a form of cryptocurrency that has only recently become popular. This novel form of crypto may be just what Gen Z would like to invest in. A new cryptocurrency like Big Eyes Coin could be a good investment for them as it’s not saturated like Bitcoin, and the value is likely to appreciate exponentially. With its playful themes, the meme nature of this coin is likely to appeal to Gen Z over mainstream cryptocurrencies’ dull, monotonous vibes.
Big Eyes Coin (BIG) also runs on a different blockchain, the Ethereum blockchain. After the recent Merge, the Ethereum blockchain has switched from proof-of-work to the proof-of-stake method. The PoS method validates cryptocurrency transactions by having the currency owners stake their coins; this gives them the right to check and validate new blocks of transactions and add them to the blockchain. This method is 99% more environmentally friendly than PoW. With the state of the current environment, Gen Z want to do whatever they can to preserve it, potentially including switching to a greener cryptocurrency like Big Eyes Coin (BIG) over Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC)
