Equinor touts economic ‘ripple effects’ in Norway

Oil major Equinor’s activities offshore and onshore Norway generated more than Nkr70 billion ($7.17 billion) in business for some 1800 equipment and service providers in the country, a new report has found.

The sum represents close to 60,000 man-years in Norway, defined as one person’s total salary for a year, the report said.

The analysis by Bodo Science Park also took into consideration the “ripple effects” of the company’s spending on exploration, field development and increased oil recovery efforts, as well as its retail products and taxes paid.
