Seven students formerly from the Vieux Fort Comprehensive and Choiseul Secondary schools are recipients of new laptops provided by the Ministry of Education to assist their studies in Jamaica.
The students have attained athletics scholarships and they were each rewarded with a laptop, an item that remains essential for studies in this modern era. The laptops ere provided in recognition of the student’s hard work and successes.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Department Education, Innovation and Vocational Training Sen. Dr. Pauline Antoine-Prospere, said the laptop donation is a reward for the students’ tremendous efforts at the secondary level, and successful applications to the tertiary-level institution.
Dr. Antoine Prospere is confident the students will make Saint Lucia proud, especially with the notable achievements of Saint Lucians at the just concluded Commonwealth Championships.
The students accompanied by their parents were each presented with devices that have been fully activated with the necessary software to aid their studies.
Student- Jada Emmanuel, thanked the department on behalf of her fellow recipients, pledging to make full use of the devices. Other recipients include Vanni Henry, Keithan Monero, Genevieve John, Deshawn Fanis, Jaheim Ferdinand and Lester Emmanuel.
