The cost of investing could fall as fund managers plan to launch a new type of share class using cryptocurrency blockchain technology.

The Investment Association, which oversees £10 trillion of assets, is pushing ahead with plans to launch tokenised funds. It could also speed up the buying and selling of investments and put an end to delays that can lead to investors getting a different price when they trade.
