This summer local 4-H members will be attending Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center, which is located in Reidsville North Carolina. Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Camp’s mission is to provide youth with opportunities to develop critical life skills using the experiential learning model. Learning by doing means that all youth that visits our center gain knowledge through hands-on learning that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of a modern, global society. They offer the classic residential, six-day summer camping experience for your child, ages 8-14. Children are placed in co-ed activity groups according to age and participate in a variety of activities including horseback riding, canoeing on Lake Hazel, archery, rock wall climbing, swimming, arts & crafts, cookouts, campfires, nature exploration, teambuilding, high ropes and more.
Are you interested in attending 4-H camp this summer? If so, Yadkin County 4-H still has spots! The camp week is July 10-15, leaving Sunday morning and returning early Friday afternoon. The cost is $500, which is lower than their normal camp rates. Scholarships may be available. For more information about camp, please contact Madaline Jones, 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent at 336-849-7908 or at madaline_jones@ncsu.edu.
