Community Growth Officer – Pedestrian Jobs

Job Description: Community Growth Officer

Ripple has set the foundation for big growth in 2022, and we’re looking for a data-loving, digital-savvy marketing allstar to help lead the charge.

A little about us

Ripple is a social enterprise tech startup helping accelerate our next generation into future focussed careers and community leadership. We’re a one-stop-shop of curated opportunities, skill building and values-lead leadership experience, all wrapped in a massive community of support. In 2021, every 8 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia discovered a new opportunity through Ripple. In a few short years, we’ve already helped thousands of young adults to use their unique strengths to make impact faster, now we have our sights set on helping millions.

That’s where you come in.

A little about you

You’ve explored, tested and learnt a bunch about using digital marketing to grow a community and while you may not have (yet) done all the things, you’re hungry to keep on learning. You love setting yourself goals, experimenting with ways to reach them, and then creating systems to scale your results. Maybe you’ve grown your own thing, or worked on growing something for someone else. Most of all, you believe in the power of our next generation to shape our future, and are ready to use your skills to help unlock opportunities for thousands of others.

If you’re looking at this role, you might be the kind of person who:

  • Loves all things growth marketing, and has a few specific examples of how you’ve used your digital skills to grow things efficiently (e.g. experience with: running campaigns on Facebook, Google, LinkedIn and/or Tik Tok), email marketing or content creation, data analytics and reporting and/or CRM and sales automation) .
  • Is a self-starter who doesn’t need to wait for direction, and can share a few tall tales about the impact of your boundless initiative and problem solving attitude.
  • Is confident enough to ask questions and learn from others, even when those people don’t share your expertise.

TLDR

Come use your digital skills to own and drive the growth marketing strategy for Ripple, and amplify an entire generation’s impact.

Your first 100 days as our Community Growth Officer

Ripple is a startup, so things change regularly. The good news is, it’s never boring. The bad news is, your diary gets a bit messy. But, here are some of the things this role will work on in your first few months:

  • You’ll design pipelines for our most important audience segments from start to acquisition
  • You’ll set up a whole laboratory of experiments that help us translate the big idea into magnetic comms on a range of platforms
  • You’ll create an onboarding process that is efficient and fun, ensuring users love Ripple from the moment they find it
  • You’ll clean up our CRM and email platform, and plan new ways to leverage them so we can provide more relevant and good stuff to our community.
  • You’ll play a big and important role in the creation of a brand new platform to serve the entire Ripple community.

To get that done, we’ll back you with:

  • The opportunity to meet and learn from current users and community members
  • An arsenal of pre-existing and new content to use to generate leads
  • Plenty of time with our co-founders to learn all things Ripple
  • Additional training to complement your existing skills and experience, and set you up for success including a dual qualification in Certificate IV Business and Certificate IV Business Operations (Marketing Focus) in 2022.
  •

Our closing pitch

Every year, you spend nearly 2000 hours of your life working. This is your chance to spend those hours growing the platform that will unlock the impact of a generation.

This role has no ceiling and will join Ripple at the beginning of what is shaping to be an exciting period of growth. We’re investing in a team that we want to grow with us – so you don’t need to have already proven you can do everything (we’re looking at you if you’re worried you don’t meet ALL the criteria). We’re looking out for crew that share our values, are hungry to learn and care about shaping the social enterprise alongside us.

This role is initially a 12 month contract with likelihood of extension and a salary range of $55,000 – $70,000. As you settle into your role, we’re keen to identify relevant training and mentoring opportunities to help you hit your goals. This includes the opportunity to complete a Dual Qualification in Certificate IV Business and Certificate IV Business Operations (Marketing Focus) in 2022.

We’re a remote and flexible team who believe in getting stuff done, not watching the clock.

You will work from wherever you like, checking in and connecting with the team virtually. Throughout the year we will get together in-person when it’s safe and possible to do so, to dream dreams, celebrate our wins and consume only the finest gin.

We’re open to this role being filled full time or part-time. We’ve got young parents and ‘side-hustlers’ in our ranks already, and while this role is a big one, we’ll work with you to find the rhythm that sets us all up for sustained success.

We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences is a key ingredient of a strong team, and we want the strongest team. We’re looking for people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, orientations, and abilities to join our mission.

We believe measuring your talent by the years of experience you have doing a job is absurd, so don’t let that get in the way of applying. If you’ve got to this point and you think you’re up for this challenge, we want to hear from you.

I’m in. Now, how do I apply?

We’re so glad you asked.

Shoot through your resume and a cover letter to apply@ripple.gl

In your application, as well as sharing a bit about how you’d apply your experience in this role, we’d love to know the answer to these three questions:

  1. What’s motivated you to apply?
  2. How would you set about getting to know our Ripple community and discover their core needs?
  3. What’s the best thing you’ve learnt from someone else in the last 12 months, and why?

Closing date: We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis (so get it in, asap!) and final close is 11:00pm AEDT on Wednesday 16th March 2022.
