Kochi: Aiming to discuss the latest innovations in blockchain technology, the state government will host a blockchain summit during the third edition of Huddle Global, a virtual global technology conference to be held this month.
The summit is being jointly organised by Kerala IT parks and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). They will also conduct ‘Blockchain Innovation Challenge’ as part of the summit to identify promising blockchain startup ideas.
The Kerala Blockchain Summit 2022 would be a Techno-business symposium. The virtual event will cover the latest innovations, technical topics, and business applications of blockchain.
John M Thomas, chief executive officer (CEO) of Kerala IT Parks and KSUM, said that global industry leaders, technical experts, startups, and policymakers, will attend various sessions of the summit. “Event is free and open to all blockchain enthusiasts. The summit intends to educate and encourage various stakeholders,” he said.
Earlier, authorities had planned to organise the summit at the Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. But given the fresh Covid-19 surge, the programme is going to be held online.
The conference will cover keynote addresses and panel discussions on various topics, from cryptocurrencies to the widespread adoption of public and private blockchains.
KSUM is conducting the ‘Blockchain Innovation Challenge’ with an aim to identify promising blockchain startup ideas and support them by providing an idea grant of Rs 2 lakh. The innovation grant is expected to help blockchain startups develop their ideas into working prototypes.
Any student, innovator or startup, who is pursuing blockchain technology for their indigenous products and services, irrespective of industry verticals, can participate in the challenge. KSUM will identify those potential startups and invite them for pitching during the blockchain summit.
