Filmmaker Karan Johar took to his Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon and shared that he is expressing ‘ripple effect trauma’. He also asked if there’s a vaccination for it.
Karan wrote, “Ripple effect trauma. How do we vaccinate for that?”
What is Ripple Effect?
Wikipedia defines the Ripple effect as the “influence of a situation, action, event, etc. that does not stop but is experienced on a series of things one after the other.”
It can be assumed that Karan Johar is talking about the trauma caused by each wave of Covid-19. While there’s a vaccine against the Covid-19 virus, there’s not much one can do to deal with the emotional stress that comes with the pandemic.
The Covid-19 pandemic arrived in India in early 2020. It’s 2022 now and we are still living in fear, with our masks on. The livelihood is at stake as the government is in talks for another lockdown ahead of the third wave of Covid. A few days ago, Karan Johar had urged the Delhi government to keep cinemas open.
