Shiba Inu has recorded increasing use cases in the payments system. The meme coin has now become one of the top altcoins of choice for merchants who are looking to enable cryptocurrency payments on their platform. This is both due to the low transaction fees and the incredibly large user base that comes with the digital asset, bringing both utility and new customers to the business.
The latest to integrate Shiba Int payments in its ecosystem is the pure digital payments provider, Flexa. Flexa has been on a streak with accepting new cryptocurrency payments and recently added Shiba Inu to that list. Last week, Flexa has announced on Twitter that it was adding LUNA and TerraUSD, both part of the Terra ecosystem, as modes of payment for its users.

Flexa Adds Shiba Inu
The addition of Shiba Inu to Flexa’s lineup was recently announced via the payments provider’s Twitter account. Flexa told its followers that they could now make payments on using Shiba Inu. The meme coin, according to the digital payments provider, would provide fast and fraud-proof payments for users, which they can use across over 40,000 stores in the United States alone.

In addition, Flexa announced that users would be able to get a significant 20% discount when they used SHIB to pay for tickets and concessions at Regal Cinemas. Regal has recently followed in the footsteps of its largest competitor AMC Theaters when it announced last month that it would be accepting cryptocurrency payments.

SHIB On A Hot Streak
Shiba Inu had burst onto the crypto space with no utility to speak of at first. The meme coin was just that – a meme coin. Funny memes playing off the Dogecoin and the Shiba Inu meme trend pushed the digital asset into the limelight. However, as the coin and its user base had grown, it had become pertinent for there to be use cases in order to keep the asset alive.

The payments sector had welcomed SHIB with open arms the way it had its predecessor Dogecoin. It allowed for cheap and easy transactions, especially when it came to small transactions, and Shiba Inu supporters all flocked to support any platform that was accepting the meme coin as a form of payment.
Currently, SHIB is accepted by millions of merchants across the globe. Just last week, travel booking site Travala, announced that it would begin accepting Shiba Inu as a method of payment. The integration meant that travelers are able to book hotel rooms across more than two million homes in the world, in addition to being able to pay for their flights in SHIB.
