Small Business Saturday 2021 in Indianapolis: Where, how to shop

play

Holiday shopping season is around the corner, and local businesses are gearing up to greet shoppers.

This year’s sales are once again crucial as small business face a second year of survival during the pandemic. Supply chain issues and logistical bottlenecks are plaguing both big box retailers and local businesses. And in one survey by American Express, 78% of business owners said holiday sales will impact their ability to stay in business in 2022.

Christmas trees, sweaters, gifts in shipping mess: How supply chain issues will affect holiday shopping

With “Small Business Saturday,” communities push to support local shops during the busy holiday season. The movement predates the pandemic, with American Express helping launch it in 2010. It’s on the Saturday after Black Friday, so this year it falls on Saturday, Nov. 27.

If you’re looking to shop local and support independent businesses this year, here’s what you need to know to score some deals.
