The German esports organisation BigClan has announced that it has partnered with the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. The deal is expected to be framed around digital activations and community engagement, and will see Coinbase joining the organisation as its premium partner for its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team.
Today we can welcome Coinbase, one of the world’s leading crypto exchange platforms, as a partner,” said Daniel Finkler, BIG CEO. “The world of cryptocurrencies is an enormously exciting space, and it’s my ambition to make more people aware of this rapidly growing ecosystem with all its benefits and risks through our partnership. Coinbase has developed into a market leader over the last few years and offers customers a safe and regulated place to securely trade and store cryptocurrencies. We are very excited to start our partnership officially today. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the SPORTFIVE team for initiating and arranging this great cooperation.”
There is no mention as to the length or the duration of the partnership.
“Crypto and esports are both industries with a huge amount of potential and are constantly evolving,” said Sascha Rangoonwala, country manager of Germany at Coinbase. “Partnering with Germany’s leading eSports organization helps us more effectively reach as well as educate digital natives around the benefits and risks of cryptocurrency. Our aim is to give people the tools they need to use digital assets to their advantage.”
