The streets of downtown Yadkinville were packed on Saturday for the return of the annual July fourth parade. Multiple food vendors lined Elm Street offering a festival-like atmosphere ahead of the parade.
“The parade, activities and fireworks were awesome,” said Yadkinville Mayor Eddie Norman.
The parade marched down Main Street lead by area veterans. Numerous area fire trucks and rescue vehicles followed as well as floats, tractors and more.
Children excitedly caught candy that was thrown by passersby in the parade.
“I would like to thank the Yadkinville Fire Department for organizing and directing the parade,” Norman added. “They did an awesome job! I also would like to thank the Yadkinville Police Department, public works and the office staff for contributing to the success of all of the events.”
“Our citizen and community support demonstrated how great of a town and community that we live in,” said Norman.
