The ripple effects from the Day of Giving

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Recently in Cheyenne it was the 16th annual “Day of giving.” Board members of the initiative spoke about the ripple effects of the donations and details the heartfelt aftermath.

“I talked to several agencies who said they were amazed by generosity in the community. It’s the people that makes this all possible. We organized it all but if it wasn’t for our wonderful community we wouldn’t have a Day Of Giving.”

The program says all donations had been sorted and delivered to area agencies as of Monday;

Vitalant, a Blood Donation center in Cheyenne says it received 20 more units of blood donations to help patients.

Board member Morrow said, the Day Of Giving event received on-site financial donations totaling south of $7,000. Morrow says, the dollars will go toward purchases to help each supported agencies to meet client needs.

“When I was a teacher at Central High School, my motto was if everybody does a little bit, then nobody has to do a lot, and that just says if everybody pitches in we can do this. We can help our neighbors in need.”

It was reported through a piece on the Laramie County Student of the Week, East High School’s Caden Wiederspahn, the AFJROTC unit was also showered with donations for the BIG Giveback.

Morrow also says The Day of Giving proved this year’s event will contribute to MORE year-round efforts moving forward.
