Thomas Tuchel’s team were beaten 2-1 in the final match of the season – only clinging on to a top four finish courtesy of Tottenham’s win at Leicester
It has since emerged the London club complained to the league about a delay to their arrival at the ground, with their team bus kept waiting for around 15 minutes while it awaited permission for entry.
During that time it was claimed some members of the travelling party spotted two of the stewards who were blocking the coach eating ice cream before they were eventually given the green light.
It is believed Chelsea then appealed to the Premier League for the kick-off to be delayed but this was not granted.
Bertrand Traore and Anwar El Ghazi were both on the mark for the hosts, with Ben Chilwell netting for the visitors.
