Hoplite LBE announces the launch of its new company, Proteus Digital Inc. Joining forces with industry leaders in the blockchain and NFT industry, Proteus Digital will focus on digital project development with specific focus on the use of NFTs in the live and location based entertainment worlds. Based in Orlando, Proteus Digital has additional team member sin Ottawa and Calgary, Canada.
A blockchain is a digital record of transactions. The name comes from its structure, in which individual records, called blocks, are linked together in single list, called a chain. Blockchains are used for recording transactions made with cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Because blockchains cannot be forged, recreated or altered, they have become linked to digital assets. From this idea, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) were born.
“Most of what we have seen in the news and social media on NFTs has been digital art, but this technology can be applied to digital assets of all types without fear of compromise,” says Greg Senner, COO of Hoplite LBE. “NFTs can be used as tradable collectibles, but they can also be used in proof of presence, proof of purchase, and loyalty & rewards programs. Proteus Digital sees endless possibilities on how we can use NFTs for entertainment; everything from ticketing to gamification of experience, even guest tracking and analytics.”
