Boris Johnson’s warnings of a third wave are designed “to keep the population fearful”, a leading epidemiologist has said, as he suggested that people may be able to take foreign holidays this summer.
Professor Tim Spector of King’s College London told Times Radio that there was unlikely to be a surge in infections until Christmas and that it was likely to be a “ripple” rather than a wave.
