Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform, Carsome, recently appointed Mei Han as the CEO of Carsome Certified while blockchain payments company Ripple has appointed Brooks Entwistle, a former executive at US ride-hailing firm Uber, as managing director of Southeast Asia.
Carsome appoints CEO for Carsome Certified
Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform, Carsome, recently appointed Mei Han as the Chief Executive Officer of Carsome Certified, the business-to-consumer (B2C) arm of Carsome’s offerings.
Mei is an industry veteran, having spent the last 10 years in the automotive industry. He has
also served in China’s financial industry, particularly in venture capital and investment
banking.
Prior to his current appointment, Mei was the Director of Platform Strategy in Carsome, responsible for product development and business intelligence.
As the CEO of Carsome Certified, Mei will focus on integrating and elevating consumer experience both online and offline by riding on Carsome’s product, tech and data capabilities.
Ripple appoints ex-Uber exec as MD for SEA
Blockchain payments company Ripple has appointed Brooks Entwistle, a former executive at US ride-hailing firm Uber, as managing director of Southeast Asia, according to an announcement.
In this role, Entwistle will support Ripple to drive digital asset and blockchain adoption in the region.
Brooks joins at an exciting time for RippleNet, which now includes Singapore-based remittance company BKK Forex, adding to Ripple’s fast-growing customer base in the region like Siam Commercial Bank, iRemit, DeeMoney and others, the company said in the announcement.
BKK Forex joins Ripple’s global financial network to process SME and remittance payments from Singapore to Thailand.
n 2019, Ripple, which was backed by Thai venture capital firm Digital Ventures, reached a valuation of $10 billion after raising $200 million in its Series C funding round.
