Google Cloud is looking to hire a blockchain business development manager to head up a new team based in China, in a move that underlines the company’s commitment to growth in the country.
According to a job post for the role, the candidate will head up a team tasked with selling cloud computing services to C-level executives nationwide, with applications open to those based in Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen.
“As a member of the Google Cloud team, you inspire leading companies, schools, and government agencies to work smarter with Google tools like G Suite, Search, and Chrome. You advocate the innovative power of our products to make organizations more productive, collaborative, and mobile. Using your passion for Google products, you help spread the magic of Google to organizations around the world.”
“As a Business Development Manager, you will sell to our enterprise accounts. You’ll leverage existing relationships with C-level executives, develop new relationships and act as a trusted business partner to deeply understand their unique company challenges and goals.”
Google Cloud currently offers a range of services for blockchain developers, including Blockchain Explorer and Blockchain Wallet, and a successful expansion of its user base in China would see more enterprise accounts in the hands of teams likely to develop blockchain powered apps.
It comes after a partnership with Digital Asset confirmed back in 2018, which saw Google integrate blockchain capabilities into the Google Cloud suite.
Similarly, in May of 2020, Google announced a partnership with Theta Labs, allowing for distribution of onboarding videos more effectively via Google Cloud.
The Google Cloud platform runs on the same infrastructure as other commonly used Google products, such as Gmail, Google Search and YouTube, designed to offer a user-friendly interface for managing cloud resources.
