MOUNT AIRY — Before the holiday break, the Forbush Falcons volleyball team travelled to Mount Airy to take on the North Surry Greyhounds. The Lady Falcons were looking to grab an important win, as they are in fourth place in the Western Piedmont Athletic Conference. Before the match Forbush was sitting at 4-5, just out of reach of the top three teams. The match was an important one for numerous reasons, but the main one was the playoff picture.

Forbush came into the match on fire, but unfortunately the Greyhounds had the upper hand on their home court. North Surry took a 3-1 win over the Falcons with set scores of 25-16, 18-25, 25-18, 25-22.

With the loss, the Lady Falcons are now 5-5 in the WPAC. Forbush’s next home match will be Jan. 4 against Walkertown (4-6). The Jan. 4 game will also be senior night for the Lady Falcons, as they recognize Reagan Wooten and Salem Finney.
