American rapper and hip hop artist Megan Thee Stallion is giving away $1 million in bitcoin on Twitter to Cash App users. Thousands of people are participating and many claim to have already received some sats from the star.
Megan Thee Stallion Giving Away Bitcoin
Megan Thee Stallion, also known as Hot Girl Meg, announced on Twitter Thursday that she is giving away $1 million in bitcoin to Cash App users. “Thee Hot Girl coach is officially on team @Cashapp,” she wrote. “To celebrate I’m giving $1 million in bitcoin to as many hotties as I can. Will be giving out this million units until it’s gone, so drop your Cashapp below with #Bitcoinmeg to get a piece.” Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey also confirmed in a tweet that this bitcoin giveaway by Megan Thee Stallion is legit.
At the time of writing, thousands of people on Twitter have participated. Hot Girl Meg’s tweet has been retweeted over 18,000 times, liked more than 67,500 times, and garnered over 172,000 comments. A number of people have also confirmed by providing their Cash App screenshots that they have really received bitcoin payments from the star.
Hot Girl Meg followed up with another bitcoin tweet:
Hotties bitcoin is a really smart investment and increases over time [fire emoji] make sure you keep dropping y’all’s Cash App names so call can make smart money moves.
According to the screenshots posted by people who claimed to have received some sats from Megan Thee Stallion, the hip hop artist gave away between 43,000 sats and 50,000 sats to each recipient. Twitter handle @1nonlyrmonee posted a screenshot confirming the receipt of 43,210 sats (~$9.78) from Hot Girl Meg. “Y’all I’m so geeked. I just won part of Megan’s Bitcoin giveaway!! Thank you so much, I am forever grateful,” she wrote.
This is not the first time the “Girls in the Hood” singer has given away money to her fans. In August, she gave away $1 million to celebrate a “WAP” collaboration with fellow rapper and actress Cardi B. “We’re partnering with Twitter and Cash App to celebrate all the powerful women out there by giving away a total of $1 million dollars. How can some $ help you or a woman you know right now?” Megan Thee Stallion wrote at the time. The singer also previously gave away $10,000 to 10 Tinder users each for submitting a profile that displays their true self in the “Put Yourself Out There Challenge.”
