Several CEOs and executives of the tech industry this year have been upfront about holding cryptocurrencies like Bitcoins and other Altcoins. This week Jaan Tallinn, co-founder of the telecommunication application Skype revealed in a recent interview that he keeps his personal wealth in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Eoghan McCabe, the co-founder of Intercom, tweeted on Sunday, that he jumped into the Bitcoin space, and wants everyone to do the same.
How did Tallinn reveal his Crypto Holdings?
In a recent interview, Tallinn revealed about a couple of donations in the form of cryptos. Tallinn sent around $1,58,000 worth of 350 Ethereum (ETH) to Faculty AI, an organization based in London, to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) system, that would detect terrorism via social media. Earlier this year, Tallinn also donated around $850k worth of Bitcoins to the organisation. However, according to Tallinn, he is able to donate cryptocurrencies as he keeps his majority of personal wealth in cryptos. If Tallinn would have cashed out such cryptos he would become liable for capital gains, and so he donated the funds in the form of cryptocurrencies.
McCabe is welcomed in the space by several bitcoiners
Several Bitcoiners welcomed McCabe in the Bitcoin space, as McCabe revealed that he jumped into the BItcoin space. We also observed from the tweet that McCabe has been listening to the Pomp Podcast, that features the Bitcoin propagandist Robert Breedlove “Mad love for all the Bitcoiners”. However, some individual Bitcoiners replied to McCabe, that he still is in the adoption phase of Bitcoin (BTC).
Tallinn and McCabe followed several known exec into space
The report of Tallinn and McCabe follows several known executives into the Bitcoin space and discusses the benefits of Bitcoin in this year. This year Billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller, Bill Miller, well known fund manager, Jeffrey Gundlach, the Bond King, Paul Tudor Jones, the billionaire investor, Keven Hart, an actor, have all jumped in the Bitcoin space. Meanwhile, Cynthia Lummis, the United States Senator, is observing a lot of promises in the innovative crypto economy.
It is observed that several traditional news reporters are also adding Bitcoins in their discussions in a positive way. According to a recent analysis it is revealed that the interest of institutions has transferred to bitcoin, from gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs). We might now conclude that several more proponent tech executives and haters will join the crypto revolution.
