Mary and Franklin Nixon
Franklin D. and Mary W. Nixon of Yadkinville marked 60 years of marriage on Aug. 28. The couple was married on Aug. 28, 1960.
They celebrated the milestone on Aug. 22 with a 5 p.m. celebration at Lake Hampton, which was hosted by their children, Mike Nixon and Jill Evans.
In addition to their son Mike Nixon and wife Camela and daughter Jill Evans and husband Gene, they have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Nixon is retired from Sara Lee, and Mr. Nixon is retired from RJ Reynolds.
