B1G new football schedule is released and the ripple effect could be huge

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – Nothing is set in stone yet, but the Big Ten Conference has a plan.

They released their conference only schedule which is set to kick-off in early September

Fans are already making their predictions.

“All I want to say is go green. Like I said we got seven plus games that I think we’re going to win,” said William Cooper, former MSU cornerback.

Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren cautioned there is no certainty games will be played.

Cooper is just happy to see dates on a calendar.

“For them to put a schedule it makes it more exciting because people have something to look forward to,” Cooper explains. “Walking from the hotel to the stadium and seeing the crowd and your family and you got that tunnel vision seeing game, that the most important apart about it.”

Players may not get to experience that this season; as of right now fans won’t be allowed to attend the games.

University of Michigan is the most profitable football team in the Big Ten according to Forbes, with Michigan State coming in at number five in the conference.

So the revenue from fans tickets and game day experience may be lost this season…

Sports fans out there you might be able to make it to a game, so going to a bar might be your next best option.

“We can’t really feel the place up at this point. But, I think our Saturdays will be more exciting when we have Michigan and Michigan State fans in here. They seem to gather for a little bit of everything,” said Tom Hinkley, owner of The Draft: Sports Bar & Grill. “We do a lot of business on them days, so were excited hoping we get back to some kind of normalcy… You come in here on a crazy Saturday, pre-COVID, and literally the place would be packed. It’ll be have Michigan fans and Michigan State fans.”

Hopefully we will get to see kick-offs in East Lansing and Ann Arbor this season.
