Dr. Seuss Going Crypto
Dapper Labs announced Tuesday that it has partnered with Dr. Seuss Enterprises “to create all new digital collectibles to the Flow blockchain,” featuring “some of Dr. Seuss’ most iconic and popular characters,” including Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, The Grinch, Horton and Thing One and Thing Two.
Fans of Dr. Seuss’ work can then purchase and “collect digital packs of their favorite characters and wholly own them on blockchain forever,” the announcement details. Dapper Labs founder and CEO Roham Gharegozlou commented:
As the world moves increasingly online, so has consumers’ desire for discovering and collecting digital memorabilia that brings them one step closer to their favorite athletes, musicians and iconic characters.
Gharegozlou told Fortune that families will be able to store these Dr. Seuss characters in an online sticker book and sell or trade them. Licensed “digital packs of stickers featuring characters from The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch, and other famous works by Seuss” will be available starting next year, the publication added and quoted the CEO as saying, “This will change how people think and interact with digital culture.”
