Ripple (XRP) in University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) and ISO 20022 Registration Management Group

Ripple had already partnered with several universities from across the world to help grow the blockchain ecosystem to support the industry leaders of tomorrow.

UBRI stands for University Blockchain Research Initiative.

In the past Ripple’s UBRI partnered with IIT Bombay to solve the world remittance problem.  The process mainly focuses on blockchain and cryptocurrency R&D.  The focused was to make it possible for the Indian Government to be able to integrate a blockchain-based solution for digital certification of the educational degrees.

Similarly there are several other UBRI partners and many projects are getting built on the top of XRP, thus expanding on the Internet of Value.

Ripple tweeted:  “The latest UBRI on Campus blog features DukeFuqua Professor Campbell Harvey on how blockchain’s transparency has an immediate application in the fight against COVID-19.”

Professor Harvey believes that blockchain also has immediate application in the fight against COVID-19.  It can work as an effective tool to track the coronavirus testing, the vaccine production, and the supply chain improvement process.

Professor Harvey, opines that transparency is powerful. He further expressed that blockchain technology is not only a potential tool for remaking finance, but also a tool for democracy.  Without costly and inefficient intermediaries blockchain will be able to facilitate direct connection in the financial industry.

UBRI and Duke University have introduced a course calledTech-Driven Transformation of Business.” Lot of research and lot of use cases happening.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “With the UBRI 20+ partners, we can expect to see some real ground-breaking use cases for Ripple XRP.  For all use cases, they will sure squeeze XRP in to it. “

Ripple XRP ISO 20022

Ripple is now a part of the ISO 20022 Registration Management Group (RMG) standards body and also the first member focused on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). This membership makes it possible for Ripple to meet the requirements of nearly 300+ customers as Ripple will have a role to play in defining the future direction of cross-border payment standards which will evolve the ISO 20022 standard.
