When it comes to bitcoin, you either love it or you hate it. There are many people out there that will take digs at the leading cryptocurrency on social media such as the well-known gold enthusiast, Peter Schiff, or even the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
To that end, the chief technical officer of the San Francisco-based blockchain initiative, ripple David Schwartz has revealed that he has been slowly selling his bitcoin over the past couple of years.
When the CEO of Blockstream, Adam Back asked Schwartz whether he was still pro bitcoin, the CTO responded on Twitter saying the following:
Nope. I’ve been slowly selling bitcoin for the past several years.

In a follow-up tweet to this, Schwartz added that he was still bullish on the leading cryptocurrency but due to the high risk of volatility surrounding it, he decides to sell off the asset instead.
I’m still bullish on bitcoin, it’s just the level of risk that has me selling.

When people outside of the crypto space take digs at the industry it comes as no surprise but when an industry leader starts to criticise bitcoin, it can come as a bit of a shock.
It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
