Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase today announced that its users can now earn crypto from the rewards section of its mobile platform.
Previously, users could take part in the rewards program via the platform on a desktop—but not via mobile. Now, the San Francisco-based exchange has made it possible to access all Coinbase Earn campaigns directly through the updated Coinbase mobile app.
“Our mission is to create an open financial system, where anyone in the world can equally participate from their smartphone,” the company said in a statement. “To make this vision a reality, cryptocurrencies need to be easy to obtain and easy to understand.”
The rewards section can be accessed from the app’s home screen. The idea is that users earn crypto as a reward while learning about different assets. They can also generate rewards while holding eligible crypto.
It is now also easier for users to invest in Coinbase’s stablecoin, USDC, and Tezos and start earning rewards on these cryptocurrencies via the app, and inviting friends to join Coinbase will be smoother. Users can see how much Bitcoin they have earned in referral rewards via the mobile platform, too.
More ways for people to earn rewards and learn about the different cryptocurrencies available on Coinbase will be added over the coming months, the exchange said.
One of the biggest and most trusted crypto exchanges out there, Coinbase has always prided itself on its usability and accessibility. And the changes to the exchange’s mobile app, available now in over 30 countries, might have just made buying and earning crypto even easier.
